Pot Luck Supper - A Square Meal
I sent out emails today reminding folks about our weekly planning meetings, but I also snuck a little "Pete Seeger" in there with an open invite to a Community Pot Luck Supper, Sunday evening, April 13th, starting at about 5 or 5:30 pm. People have started responding and it looks like the Pot Luck is a "Happening"!
I will make my quick and easy but oh so yummy cajun-style shrimp and sausage Jambalaya. It'll be fun to get together and a great way to follow our first people-powered (and empowering) 2nd Saturday event.
If you're reading this, you are invited to bring a pot or pan or bowl or loaf of something edible to share, and bring your friends and or family (including the kids). We'll have a few tables set up inside the back door of the Unusual Shoppe that opens onto the Court House Square. We can put the food on the table, fill our paper plates and then sit outside in the Square to enjoy some chat and chew. See you there!
The potluck idea was a good one. About 25 people (including children) showed up bearing yummy food. We shared a smorgasbord of tasty treats and about 90 minutes of good conversation.
We'll be sure to do this again. Thanks to everyone who came.

I do so hope we do this again. The food was delicious, the company was great, and I feel excited to be a Tarboro resident! What's that I see on the horizon? Hope.
