Our Town
Bill Isley just sent me an email suggesting that if the GOT and Tarboro need a theme song, this might be it.
It brought tears to my eyes.
The song is by James Taylor, called "Our Town" from the Disney/Pixar movie "Cars".

So sad, so true. Jennifer and I have seen so many pretty towns off the beaten path in NC and VA, but in today's "rush rush, I want it now" society, we don't usually have the time to appreciate what's around us.
It works in the business world, too. It's so easy to run to Wal-Mart for everything we need, while small businesses struggle to compete. Now, as Lowes prepares to move in to town, that won't bode well for Ace and True Value. I guess you do have to be thankful for the jobs it will create for our town, though. Where do we find the happy medium? I don't know...
